The challenge
The design team at Philips/Versuni developed two sleek prototypes featuring a compact form, a pivoting head and minimalist design. Key questions to answer:
- Which design elements appeal most and why, across the two cultures (NL and DE)?
- How does the pivoting head perform on usability and durability? Trust?
- How does the size, water tank placement and cord design impact the user experience?
The outcome
The research gave clear, actionable insights to fine-tune the product direction. While the compact shape and tilting head were promising, some questions remained on visual choices, usability and effectiveness.
- Compact size and tilting head scored points for travel and ease of use
- Design concerns centered on outdated colors, plastic pieces and swivel joint durability
- Users wanted cordless and could skip some of the accessories
The nitty gritty
- 6 sessions
- Germany, Poland and Netherlands
- 5 questions asked on prototype design use and color palettes
- Sessions focused on user experience
